Bobby John is a versatile triple threat singer / songwriter / producer from Montreal who can write a solid hook filled tune, produce and belt it out on record and perform the heck out of it live. With a guitar in his hands since the age of 10, if he is not on a stage, recording or writing, chances are he is eating (some excessively spicy food) or sleeping.

His songwriting style ranges from straight forward, catchy to the bone pop to stripped down acoustic ballads with lyrics both emotionally and visually driven. Listeners can expect a healthy dose of hooks along the musical journey of each song and a high chance of singing along before the end of a first listen with an urge to hit repeat.

Collaborations are nothing new to this self proclaimed people person who has co-written with an array of local artists and producers in every location ranging from high end award winning studios to many couches throughout Montreal. With technology continuously breaking down boundaries, he has even found himself with coffee in hand co-writing at 4am with a DJ in Serbia through Skype and via email with an off duty military lyricist in Afghanistan.

His high range voice packs a punch and showcases a unique tone. With a strength in interpretation, you can expect to feel every syllable and have the song’s storyline shine through. As a singer, he has been featured on radio jingles for major stations across Quebec including CKOI and Rythme FM. His versatility accounts for his voice on countless studio demos and album tracks ranging from pop, rock, blues and acoustic.

Diverse in musical ability, his passion however lies in performance. He has opened for rock acts such as Bon Jovi, Sick Puppies and The Trews as the frontman of party rock band Play The Angel. In a more acoustic environment, he has toured Quebec as opening act for platinum selling artist Bobby Bazini, been on live radio performances for CHOM, Rouge FM and other national stations, has sang at a handful of weddings for some free food and booze, and has performed everywhere from Montreal’s metro stations and hole in the wall pubs up to the most prestigious theatres and stadiums including the renowned Bell Center.

In the coming months, Bobby John’s focus will be on his solo debut album while continuing to grow his catalogue of songs and performing. Stay up to date on progress with the album, new songs from the catalogue and more through the social links below:
