It’s on February 18th 2014 that the album « fauve from the band Ariel is officially launched on iTunes, Zik.ca and in store!

Themes on « Fauve » are exploring the conflict relations between savage side of men and his organised and polite behavior.  Mixed by Pierre Girard, this new album is the first album directed entirely by Ariel Coulombe, supported by Max Leclerc and Vincent Blain as soundman. Result: a piece of pure rock, wild but on good command, where the 2 basses sounds, guitars, saxophone (Roberto Murray) and keyboard are completing each others, kind of mixed up, to get ears and wrap the impressionists lyrics by a heavy ambiance, organic and acid remembering grunge music.

Editions Bloc Notes music publishing is welcoming Ariel into team!

A clash between twisted electro-alt-rock and dark French lyricism, ARIEL is composed of three guys, two girls, three voices, drums, guitar, keyboards and… two basses.

The band was first brought to light after winning the Francouvertes contest in 2009. Critiques said ARIEL was unique for their sombre yet dynamic sound, impressive musicianship, and magnetic presence.

The band’s first album, Après le crime, produced in Brooklyn by Gus van Go (The Stills, Les Trois Accords, Vulgaires Machins, Priestess), was nominated for Alternative album of the year at Adisq 2011, and appeared on several Top-albums-of-the-year lists for 2011. All three videos of the band reached #1 on MusiquePlus, the one for the song Chargez! still holding the all-time longevity record on the French Top 5. That same video was also nominated for Video of the year at the Juno Awards.

After touring all over the province of Quebec, and also France and Belgium, ARIEL will soon be launching their second album, in early 2014.
