Originally from Lac St-Jean, Lalancette was introduced to music by his grandmother, a pianist. After receiving training from professionals such as Catherine Pinard and Hélène Parent, he made a name for himself in competitions like Ma Première Place Des Arts and Caisse qu’on chante.

In 2015, he won first place for performance at the Caisse qu’on chante competition at the Grand Théâtre de Québec. That same year, he was a finalist in Ma Première Place Des Arts and won the Du haut des airs award, which invited him to perform at the Francofolies de Montréal. In 2018, he released his debut EP, produced by Jérôme Couture, in Montreal. In 2021, he changed his stage name to “Lalancette,” symbolizing his mission as a spokesperson for the most vulnerable. His second EP, Lumière, was met with great success, followed by a third EP, Danser, with tracks reaching the top 20 of the charts. In 2024, Lalancette released an EP, including the singles Reflet and Le temps d’un été, both of which have charted highly. Through the Bloc-Notes camp, Lalancette co-wrote the single EP Météore for Meghan Oak, as well as Tomber de haut, a track on Vince Lemire’s latest album. In addition to his collaborations on several co-writing projects, Lalancette is working on upcoming projects, in collaboration with Charles Guay and Benjamin Nadeau.
