Originally from Lac St-Jean, Lalancette was introduced to music by his grandmother, a pianist. After training with professionals like Catherine Pinard and Hélène Parent, he shone in competitions such as “Ma Première Place des arts” and “Caisse qu’on chante.” In 2015, he won first prize for interpretation at the “Caisse qu’on chante” competition at the Grand Théâtre de Québec. That same year, he was a finalist at “Ma Première Place Des Arts” and won the “Du haut des airs” award, which invited him to perform at the Francofolies de Montréal. In 2018, he released his first EP, produced by Jérôme Couture, in Montreal. In 2021, he changed his stage name to “Lalancette,” symbolizing his mission to be a voice for the vulnerable. His second EP, “Lumière,” performed well, followed by a third, “Danser,” with tracks reaching the top 40. In 2024, he released “Reflet” and “Le temps d’un été,” both well-received by radio stations. Lalancette is preparing an album for 2025 and an upcoming tour.
