TOITO is returning to the stage for Canadian Music Week just before the upcoming release of his debut EP. He is a 23 year old singer-songwriter from Hamilton, Ontario with a golden voice and soulful flair.

At the age of eight, this first generation Canadian raised by Portuguese immigrants, was introduced to the music world with his first guitar lessons. He has always been influenced by the music of Ray Charles and Boyce Avenue and the unique way they owned their instruments to create a unique sound. By the time he graduated high school, he had learned how to play the trumpet, piano, bass guitar, drums and had fully mastered the guitar.

From high school into his 20’s, he traveled around Southern Ontario with a number of bands and DJ’s, singing to large festival crowds (Festival D’Été du Quebec, Scene Music Festival) and notable music venues (The Opera House, Sound Academy).

TOITO has only been gaining momentum in the music world as a young adult.  In 2013, he traveled to Los Angeles to work with Paul DiGiovanni (guitarist, Boys Like Girls); Justin Gray (songwriter, Mariah Carey); Xandy Barry (song writer, Miley Cyrus); and Dave Lichens (Three time Grammy winner).  Most recently, he worked with producer, Brian Howes in his Los Angeles Studio (Hedley, Nickelback, Serena Ryder) and Drew Fulk in North Carolina, who has produced with Dr. Luke and his team for Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, and Chris Brown.

He is currently working on his first EP with Higher Reign Music Group. He released his first single, Fool, with producer and DJ, Lucky Rose from Ultra Records in June 2016.  The catchy, summer anthem quickly gathered more than 100,000 streams on SoundCloud over the course of a week, and was featured on renowned YouTube Channels, Chill Nation and The Vibe Guide.

TOITO’s unique sound has something for everyone, with urban, pop and alternative sounds mixed with the classic roots he obsessed over as a young artist. He has a strong arsenal of original songs along with incredible refurbished covers that woo a wide audience of people. His effortless singing and beautiful instrumentals never disappoint at a show.
