Director, video producer, and lyricist, Philippe Besner has many tricks up his sleeve. After directing a web series, 3 short films, and numerous music videos, he co-founded Le Foyer, which organizes creative retreats for musicians, bringing together around fifteen artists from various backgrounds. He wrote most of the lyrics for Miro’s album Sablier as well as several songs on his latest project, Géant. The singles Philippe Besner co-wrote—Someone On My Mind, Ma Way, Backdoor, Blues—all charted in the top 20, and the song Quitter la ville remained in the top 10 of the ADISQ charts for several weeks.

Philippe Besner’s short films have traveled through festivals both in Quebec and internationally, including the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma, REGARD, FCIAT, as well as the CineMAubit Festival in Bucharest, the Ulsan International Film Festival in South Korea, and the Festival du Cinéma Québécois in Biscarrosse, France. In 2024, the songwriter co-wrote with various artists such as Olivier Dion, Meghan Oak, Francis Degrandpré, MIRO, and 2frères, who climbed the charts. The singles co-written by Philippe Besner—Dopamine (Olivier Dion), Notre p’tit refrain (2Frères), Quitter la ville (MIRO), Ma Way (MIRO), and La saison des trophées (Francis Degrandpré)—were awarded “Success of the Week” and “Strong Reaction of the Week” on the ADISQ charts. The artist continues to lend his beautiful writing to flourishing and rewarding projects.
